Wallpapered Bathrooms… Yay or Nay?

There’s no question about it - wallpapered bathrooms are the biggest remodel trend of the season! It definitely accomplished the goal of having a bathroom that will stand out and be remembered, but there are a lot of questions surrounding the practicality of wallpaper in bathrooms. So - what’s the deal with wallpapered bathrooms?

The Pros:

  1. Affordability

When comparing the cost of wallpaper to. other bathroom alternatives (like stone, or tile) there’s no question about it - wallpaper is the most affordable option for those who want an on-trend and aesthetically pleasing bathroom. The costs of replacement, on average, are much lower - if stone or tile cracks, it’ll be a much larger hassle to re-do and replace.

2. Ease of Replacement

Getting bored with the design of your bathroom? Good news! Wallpaper is the easiest bathroom mixer-upper. There are millions of patterns, colors, and designs. It’s pretty affordable, and comparably easy to remove and replace.

3. Covering Imperfections

Don’t have the time or resources to fix the imperfections in your bathroom? Just don’t! Small paint chips and other cosmetic issues can be simply covered with a pop of color.

The Cons:

  1. Moisture damage.

This is the big concern - and for good reason. If wallpaper is. exposed to. extreme humidity and water, overtime it can and will peel.

2. Stains.

Plumbing problems happen - and that’s okay! Unless there’s wallpaper - in which case, replacement is the only option.
